Take time to reduce your stress, relax and experience pleasure while on a guided leisurely Shinrin-yoku walk in the forest. This is time to nurture yourself, to relax, engage your senses, and bathe in the pleasures of your surroundings.
On each Shinrin-yoku walk we will be moving slowly and quietly as a group while each person experiences guided invitations in their own way with opportunities along the walk to share. We strongly encourage you to register for an entire series, as you will find the greatest benefits through building Shinrin-yoku as a practice. With the lifestyles that most people lead it takes some time and practice, generally over five to seven walks, until participants experience the full benefits.
Walks begin PROMPTLY at the designated time.
This will be a leisurely 1/4 mile walk on both paved and gravel pathways. Please dress comfortably and appropriately for walking, sitting on the ground, and moving through plants. You may bring a blanket/mat/cushion to sit on. Most of the walk will be under the canopy of mature trees, but depending on your sun sensitivity you may wish to have sunscreen and sunglasses or a brimmed hat.
There may be mosquitoes and other biting insects, so bring insect repellent, netting, or other protection. There is poison ivy in this area, not on the trail, but near some trees. We will point it out to you so that you will be able to avoid it. Bring water and anything else you need for your comfort like a jacket, hat, or walking stick.
$15 per walk or $65 for series of 5 walks (May 25, June 1, 8, 15, 22)
