Save the date for the 2018 DuPage Environmental Summit, Thursday, January 25th, 2018, 8am to Noon at the Naperville Campus (Diehl Road) of Northern Illinois University.  The Summit will be centered on the theme of how spending time in Nature is good for our mental, physical and spiritual health. Our exhibits area will open at 7:30 a.m. and will feature organizations focusing on the benefits of nature to human health.

Our keynote speaker is Teresa H. Horton, Ph.D. from the Laboratory for Human Biology Research at Northwestern University.  Dr. Horton is an environmental physiologist specializing in research on how exposure to natural landscapes has restorative effects on human health and well-being.  She also coordinates the Nature, Culture and Human Health (NCH2) Working Group.  In addition, there will be presentations on additional research, nature and mindfulness, “forest bathing,” a local case study and panel discussion on existing local programs.

The Resiliency Institute will be revealing our 2018 Nature Connection programming!
