VIRTUAL/HYBRID/SOCIAL DISTANCE Format due to Covid 19.
This class will be held outside. Rain date will be Thursday 9/24/20 if needed. Please dress appropriately for outdoor classes and bring insect repellent if desired.

Finally, classes to learn about the permaculture plants used in edible forest gardens and food forests. In this September class you’ll explore one of the lower layers of a permaculture forest garden – fungi!

Permaculture edible forest gardens typically consist of at least seven layers – fungi, groundcovers, vines, herbaceous, shrubs, sub-canopy trees, and canopy trees. This class will empower you with the knowledge and confidence to effectively incorporate a tasty, functional species of fungi into your permaculture garden!

September 17th – FUNGI – inoculate a mushroom log (bring a drill)
Fungi are a critical component to any forest garden, especially for shady areas.  You will learn how to inoculate a log with oyster mushrooms and will take it home to grow in your own garden.

TUITION*:
Fungi:  Single – $45; Bring a friend for an additional $35
Did you already attend our Shiitake class in June? If so, you can register for the Oyster class as a returning fungi student for only $30!
