Instructor: Pat Armstrong
Learn how to identify trees by observing their shape, bark, buds, leaves, flowers, and fruits and the basic characteristics of the winter plant families. You will learn plant terminology, proper use of tools, and discover what parts of the plant help to identify it. We will spend some time in class keying out a few trees.
Please bring a lupe (8x) magnifying glass, or something similar and books to identify trees. Pat recommends The Master Tree Finder by May Theilgaard Watts.
Cost: $25
This class is a prerequisite for the Winter Edible Wild Plants course for students with no prior plant identification experience.
