Instructor: Pat Armstrong
Day one of a two day beginners class to learn how to identify plants. You will learn plant terminology, proper use of tools, and discover what parts of the plant help to identify it. We will spend some time in class keying out a few trees and wildflowers.
Please bring a lupe (8x) magnifying glass, or something similar and books to identify trees and wildflowers. Pat recommends The Master Tree Finder and Flower Finder by May Theilgaard Watts and will use these in class.
The second class will be held on Thursday, September 4th at Prairie Sun where you will practice the skills you learned in the classroom in the field! The address and materials will be provided once registration and payment are received.
If you can only make the first class, then please email us at [email protected] to make arrangements.
Cost: $50 (includes both days)
This class is required for people interested in taking any of the Edible Wild Plants courses or the Edible Wild Plants Certificate program who have no experience with plant identification.
