Late summer and early fall are the times to collect your yearly supply of nuts. Learn how to identify the plants producing edible nuts in our area. View, crack open and taste local nuts and learn how Native Americans prepared flour from acorns. Nuts are the other main ingredient (besides dried berries) in pemmican, so be sure to register for both this and the Pemmican class. We will learn common plants in the Beech/Oak and Walnut families.
