Group Volunteer Opportunities

We have a unique group volunteer service experience!
Volunteer to be Forest Garden Friends to support Growing Food Security!

This is an opportunity for volunteers to learn about permaculture forest gardens to restore ecosystems, grow food for people and animals, and create nourishing community spaces that build resilience.

Roll up your sleeves and come make a positive, immediate and resilient contribution to your community. Volunteers will remove plants, build arbors, harvest edibles, water, plant, install pathways and signage, dispose of trash, and engage in other permaculture focused activities.

Be a Forest Garden Friend

Volunteer to be a Forest Garden Friend to support the growth of public permaculture edible forest gardens!

The Resiliency Institute Forest Garden FriendsForest Garden Friends are eager to learn about permaculture design and contribute to projects that are growing food security, reconnecting people to nature, and increasing biodiversity. With the support of volunteers like you, The Resiliency Institute community has established two edible forest gardens in 3 years! This is an amazing accomplishment, that is even more amazing because both of these projects were 100% designed, prepped, and planted by volunteers who donated their time, labor, expertise, skills, and resources.

We started The Resiliency Institute because we believe permaculture can positively transform the way we do things in our lives, landscapes, and communities.  Permaculture provides us with the framework and tools to design resilient systems that care for people, care for the earth, and distribute our resources.  Join us to discover the power of permaculture and work with us to transform the suburbs!

We have been amazed by the interest we are receiving and the opportunities that are coming our way.  Get involved in our growing organization to grow food security and build resilient communities using permaculture design.  Donate, Sponsor, Volunteer or take a course!

Wheelbarrow leaves

In permaculture when the leaves fall it is time to SHEET MULCH! Doesn't that sound like an exciting way to spend a few hours? C'mon we know you want to help us lay cardboard, shovel, wheelbarrow, and rake leaves and mulch on your weekend.

Ok, so it isn't a great party or sporting event, but it is a community changing experience. The Resiliency Institute and VOLUNTEERS are building permaculture edible forest gardens to:
